We went to Pila for the day yesterday, this is a quick run through the park. Filmed on my iON Air Pro WIFI.

I was super excited about going. I travelled by train from Les Diabrilets, Switzerland where I had spent a couple of days with the guys from ION, to Innsbruck arriving in the afternoon. I was really lucky that Billabong had put me up in the 5 star Grand Hotel Europa, where all the pro riders where staying, which was rad, I had a room to myself, remote controlled curtains and lights, sick!

After checking in, I went to the Bergasel Stadium where the event was being held. This was the Air and Styles 20th anniversary so the Burn session is where some of the riders that competed 20 years ago were  competing again, including my Team Manager David Pitschi, they were all practising when I got there the line up  was amazing,  riders such as Marco Grilc, Gigi Ruf, Werni Stock, Terje Haakonsen & Jamie Lynn; the Burn style contest kicked off and the atmosphere was amazing and the riders were doing insane stuff of that big kicker. After the event there was prize giving and Marco Grilc won with a sick double wildcat back flip. That night I just chilled with my friend Tom Parmentier (Belgium Billabong rider).

The next day the comp didn’t start till 2 so for most of the day a just chilled, I was also stoked to meet Gigi Ruf, Devun Walsh and David Benedek. At about 1:30 Tom and I got the coach to the stadium and everyone was throwing down the riders list was amazing pretty much all of my favourite riders were riding such as Stale Sandbech, Seb Toots, Alek Oestreng and Eric Willet, the comp was insane, Stale tried a triple and then Mark McMorris did one and stomped it. It was also great to  spend time Jamie Nicholls . The best thing about going to the Air and Style was having a VIP wristband which meant I had access everywhere and free food and drink which was awesome. The prize giving was good as well, congrats to Eric Willet for coming first.

It was  amazing to meet some of the the pro riders, I had such an awesome time there and hope to be there again next year.

After Morzine i traveled to Cham with Max Thilding for the Freeride world tour juniors. Before the comp we had 2 days of doing what we wanted, so max taught me how to hit drops and stuff like that. Which was fun but scary at the same time. For both days we practiced hitting drops and trick of them.

The day before the comp we had a riders meeting, which explained rules, tips, the Face, equipment and other stuff. The day of the comp we had to be at the lift st 7:00 in the morning and it was freezing, I’ve never been so cold in my life, was at the top we had to hike up a bit so we could see the face we were riding. The face was pretty small, we were for about 30 minutes before we had to go up. Instead of hiking we got the cable car and had to walk a little bit. At the top the face looked a lot bigger and scary. The first to drop were the skier girls so when it came to the snowboarders the face was horrid, it was super icy and sketchy. When it was the first snowboarder to drop everyone was dead serous and I was just having a mini party in my head. I just wanted to have fun and enjoy it for experience

I was the last to drop which was an advantage. As i dropped in i was scared to fall cause of the ice, i made it to the bottom only bum checking once which was alright.

After that i headed down to get ready for prize giving. At prizing giving i was nervous as hell, because i didn’t know if my run was good enough for a podium. My result was 3rd which i was so happy with. The day after that i went riding with my team manager Marco from Dakine which was so much fun. So that’s my trip to Chamonix.

I have been riding in Morzine/Avoriaz for the past week and it has been AWSOME.

I arrived in Morzine last Wednesday at about 9 at night, after having to wait for 6 hours in Geneva due to the transfer company not being near that area, I was staying with the Silkstone family, Fin Bremer and his mum. Thursday was my first ever time riding Morzine and it was sunny not a cloud in sight and the park was awesome. The kickers were pretty big and the rails were good plus there was a Burton Stash there that was cool. My first day was really getting used to the mountain. I was riding with Max Thilding and Fin for the day and it was great to ride with them again, the red line kickers were nice and great for getting some decent spins of.

On the Friday max and I decided to build a kicker as I had recently snowed quite a bit, we started building the kicker at about 12:30 after lunch and it took us until 3:00 to finish it, I didn’t really help as I didn’t know what to do, but it was great to watch and learn about how to build a kicker, when we finished we decided not to hit it as it needed to solid up a bit so we waited until the next day to session it

Saturday morning we got up early so we could session the kicker we had built, when we arrived at the spot, the kicker was looking good, we had to spend about half an hour shaping it and tracking out the bits we were hiking. I said I was going to hit it first and when hiking up a slowly started to regret that, I strapped in and I was really scared, it was my first time hitting a backcountry kicker. Max was ready for me to drop and got the camera ready, I straight lined from a set of bushes and lent back a bit. I was floating through the air not knowing what was going on and then I hit the soft snow. It was such a good adrenaline rush but I kind of hurt my arm. After two attempts I decided to spin a landed it. So I was happy.

On Sunday I didn’t go riding, so it was more of a chill out day

Monday and Tuesday max and I did a lot of filming and lots of photos, Max got some great shots (action and portrait) I also did some filming on my ION Air Pro Plus WiFi camera which was fun. Wednesday was the day I had to pack to go to Chamonix with Max for the Freeride world tour. It took 45 minutes to pack. And for the rest of the day I didn’t do that much, I arrived at Max’s at about 4:00. Richard (Max’s dad arrived at about 7:00 and I was so hyped to get to Cham for the freeride world tour.

Sunday I had a chilled out day riding Davos, it got a little slushy mid afternoon so called it a day. I was still a bit tired after the travelling yesterday with the early start.

Monday was the first day of Synergy Park Tour, we had to get the train from Davos to Scuol, we grabbed something to eat while we waited for the rest of the guys from the SPT.  We got to get transfer at Klosters for Scuol, it took about an hour to get there. When we got to the top of the mountain we had beautiful blue bird day. The park was really good, a good selection of boxes and a few jumps, we had a few runs down the piste to start, before we went into the park.  We then just lapped the park, it was really good to be back on the mountains and I really enjoyed Scuol.
